Saga has just announced that it is going to bring its popular Crazy Taxi game to the iOS. Sega made the announcement using a blog post on its official website. Crazy Taxi will be coming to iOS this month and will be a port of the classic arcade racer, the first part in the series.
After its initial release on the arcade, Crazy Taxi became massively popular and was later ported to different consoles.
Alongside the announcement, Sega also released a trailer that showed the gameplay in action from the new port. Although the trailer was quite brief, it still left an impact on the fans of the series. Those who have never played the game can now check it out on iOS. According to official release schedule, the game will be available for iPhone, iPod Touch and iPad at the end of this month.
The short trailer shows some details about the gameplay of the game. Judging from the trailer, the game will be released sometime this month and Sega is also planning to bring back the original sound track featured in the original game. The sound track of the original Crazy Taxi was done by the punk rock band Offspring.
For anyone who hasn’t played Crazy Taxi; it is an open world racing game where a taxi driver is the main character and his job is to complete different missions which revolve around picking customers from different areas and dropping them to their destination without wasting any time. The faster you finish the job, the more money is awarded.
Let’s hope that the port is well polished to work on the iPhone. From previous experiences, console ports usually don’t work that great on a touchscreen due to limited controls. But some companies find real good ways to use the touchscreen.
