The new iPhone 5 has the usual Weather application (of course) just as the one we have in iPhone 4S and iPhone 4. However, the Weather app featured on iPhone 5 is a bit different than its predecessors.
Apple has added another feature in the Weather application, making it a multi-purpose application as for each city that you add to the application, you can also obtain information regarding the time in that particular city.
The new clock is placed right underneath the name of any location that you have added in your Weather application.
The new feature might be useful for some but the tweak is not something to get impressed by. The Weather app on iPhone 5 also features some other changes but the changes aren’t significant so they might not get noticed at all by many iPhone 5 users.
If you own an iPhone 4S or an iPhone 4, open the Weather application and you’ll notice that underneath your city, it will say “hourly”. You won’t see the particular time even after upgrading to the new iOS 6.
However, in the Weather app on iPhone 5, you see the time underneath the location. Another difference between the two versions of the application is that in iPhone 5’s version of the application, you will not be able to alter the hourly view as you were equipped to do in the iPhone 4S or iPhone 4.
In the iPhone 4 and iPhone 4S, users have the option of closing/opening the hourly view by making a single tap but on the other hand, there is no choice for users in the iPhone 5 as the hourly weather forecast is displayed at all times.
We don’t really get the point of adding time underneath the location when the time gets displayed on the top of the phone and even when there is a dedicated Clock!
