The Games Will Electronic Arts Will Present At Gamescom This week

The Gamescom gaming convention will take place this week in Koln, Germany, between August 15 and August 19.

Electronic Arts will attend the convention, as expected, and the publisher will present some new games, games that are very much anticipated by gamers.

Crysis 3, FIFA 13, Dead Space 3, Need For Speed: Most Wanted, SimCity and Metal of Honor: Warfighter are some of the games Electronic Arts will present this week at Gamescom.

If you are fortunate enough to attend the event, you should know that there will be locations where you can play the Beta versions of the above mentioned games.

“The gaming industry changes faster than ever before and gamers demand quality on all gaming devices. We struggle to provide the best titles gamers love and to offer the same gaming experience on all platforms. Gamers can expect some awesome games this year” Electronic Arts’ Jens Uwe Intat said.

Let’s take a brief look at the games Electronic Arts will present this year at Gamescom.

Crysis 3

Crysis 3 is the next title of the popular Crytek franchise, and the game will be presented by Electronic Arts at the Gamescom convention this year.

The game will be available for PC, Playstation 3 and Xbox 360 and it is developed by Crytek Frankfurt with the help of the CryEngine 3 graphics engine.

The story of the game takes place in year 2047, almost 25 years after the events in Crysis 2, and the main hero will be the same Laurence Prophet.

He returns to New York to discover that the city is now divided. Gamers will have to fully take advantage of the new suit and to adapt to new fighting conditions, as the limit between hunter and hunted is very thin.

The city of New York is divided in seven districts, all covered by a giant Nanodom created by the Cell Corporation. The purpose of the game is to find out the reason why the world’s most popular city collapsed.

Crysis 3 will be available in four retail editions: Hunter, Stalker, Overkill and Predator.

FIFA 13

FIFA 13 will be presented at Gamescom this year and we can expect the game in stores in the fall of 2012. FIFA 13 will be compatible with Xbox Kinect and Playstation Move.

This is the 20th FIFA title to be released and this year the franchise will be 19 years old. Compared to FIFA 12, the gameplay include some changes, the most notable ones being:

- the Player Impact engine gets improved and it will provide more realistic animations

- you can no longer dribble just by changing direction

- free kicks will become more tactical

- improved AI for picking the best attacking routes.

You can expect FIFA 13 to hit the stores in the second half of September, being preceded by the FIFA 12 DLC, UEFA Euro 2012.

Dead Space 3

Dead Space 3 is another long awaited game that will be presented during Gamescom this year. We don’t know too many details about the game except the fact that the story will take place on a frozen planet and it will support co-op missions.

We also know that the heroes of the game will be engineer Isaac Clarke and sergeant John Carver.

The first details about Dead Space 3 appeared a few months ago when an online store listed the game for pre-orders.

Also, a few job listings from Visceral Games suggested that Dead Space 3 is in production. The fact that Dead Space is a trilogy was never a secret, but we can expect to get more details about the game during Gamescom 2012.

Need For Speed: Most Wanted

Need For Speed: Most Wanted is the new iteration of the 2005 title, and the game will be released for most gaming consoles and PC.

Need For Speed: Most Wanted is developed by Criterion Games and it will be distributed by Electronic Arts in the fall of 2012.

The story of the game takes place in an open world in which gamers will be able to drive as they please.

Also, Hot Pursuit and Burnout fans will be happy to find out that speed, dangerous accidents and controlled drifts are now common elements of the game.

Need For Speed: Most Wanted will support online multi-player.

SimCity

SimCity is the name of the next game that will reinvent the famous Electronic Arts franchise and the game will be released in 2013 for PC.

SimCity is developed by Maxis Studios and it will benefit from a new 3D world, which will be built with the help of the GlassBox Engine.

It will have an impact on each of the citizens of the city, as well as on every level of the city: electricity, water, traffic, unemployment and taxes.

The developers of the game say that the new SimCity will be a real urban planning simulator game.

Each city will also have it’s own specific theme like resorts or urban areas focused on industry. Each citizen will have it’s own needs, and it will be your responsibility to make them happy.

Medal of Honor: Warfighter

Medal of Honor: Warfighter is a new game announced by Electronic Arts and it will arrive on stores in October of 2012. Warfigher of the 13th title of the Medal of Honor franchise and it is  developed by Danger Close studios.

Warfighter is the direct sequel of the 2010 Medal of Honor game.

The story of the game will take you in different conflict areas like the Coast of Africa. Preacher will be the nickname of the new hero and he has to engage in battle against terrorism.

Gamers who enroll in the Origin pre-order system will also get access to the Battlefield 4 beta version.
