This may come as really bad news for those who have been anticipating Bethesda’s Prey 2. The game was first shown during E3 2010 and had instantly gained a huge following. Unlike its predecessor, Prey 2 was set in a future world where you were a bounty hunter.
Today it seems that Prey 2 will never make it to the gamers as Bethesda has completely removed the game from their product list. One quick look at the official website of the software developers confirms that the game is nowhere to be found.
The development progress on the game has been questioned a lot of times from Bethesda. Some even claimed that the game was cancelled because Bethesda removed it from the show list during this year’s Game Developers Conference.
However, Bethesda squashed the rumors by officially stating that the game was not cancelled but was only delayed till 2013. Since then no one has heard anything about the game. According to the publisher, the development progress of the game was in question when they found it to be not of standards.
It is possible that the game has been cancelled or will not be available for the current generation of consoles. Both Microsoft and Sony are expected to announce their next generation consoles during next year. Development kits for the next Xbox have been confirmed in the hands of select developers.
No official statement from Bethesda has been made over the removal of the game from its product listing. It is clear that the publisher is not ready to make a full announcement of cancellation, or perhaps it is still trying to get the game to come back in development.
Prey 2 was being developed by Human Head, but now it’s not clear whether the same developer is going to work on the game. We have included an image of the product list from Bethesda, which clearly shows no sign of the game.
