As we inch closer to the launch of Apple’s newest phone, the iPhone 5, we are hearing lots of rumors and seeing a lot of leaked images popping up on the internet.
The iPhone 5 is expected to be announced on September 12 and should make its way to the markets on September 21.
While we all wait for Apple to announce the new phone, it looks like some websites have some extras to offer to the consumers.
In the recent set of rumors and pictures of the iPhone 5 leaked on the internet, dummy models of the new phone were seen on a Chinese website. The dummy models show an exactly same iPhone 5 that goes in accordance to the list of rumors revealed about the new phone in the past on the internet and images of the phone leaked online.
The Chinese Taobao shopping website has a set of iPhone 5 dummies. The dummy model shows a longer iPhone with a two – toned back, as rumored. The screen of the dummy model shows five vertical icons instead of four, as in the iPhone 4S.
Taobao posted the dummy models of the iPhone 5 more than four weeks ago and there are many websites that are selling the dummy models of the phone in white and black color.
Previously, when Taobao initially posted the dummy models for sale, the prices were high but ever since they were last posted, they are now available for less. This is probably because the new phone will be launched soon and users will have no interest in buying a dummy model when they can get themselves a real iPhone 5.
I don’t know how many people believe in all of the iPhone 5 rumors reported in the past but the Chinese people sure as hell believe them avidly.
Taobao is one of the biggest online shopping websites in China. In fact, for the Chinese, Taobao is just like eBay is for the rest of the world. The site is controlled by Alibaba Group.
