Racism has always been a topic that captures a great deal of attention whenever it is discussed. In any case its crucial importance to date cannot be doubted and most people have got their basic information down. Sometimes one notices that everyone is flushed and in a flurry simply because the very mention of racism has been brought about. Often it may not even be relevant to what was being discussed.

Ethnic hatred, difference between communities, sects and the topic of racism often find themselves heavily discussed on the internet in different capacities as people try to find their voice about these concerns. Alex Hutchinson, who is the creative director of a very famous game that goes by the name of Assassin’s Creed III has recently landed himself in a similar situation.

His unkind remarks regarding Japanese games have been pegged as racist and have opened him up to vast criticism and protest. He gave an interview to CVG in which his statements have fallen short of being tolerant and honorable. Even though the entire interview was supposed to be about the release of Assassin’s Creed III, it did find itself on a very different footing in the end.

Apart from the apparent racism a lot of things were discussed at the interview that are of great interest to diehard fans of the popular game that has now reached a trilogy. Hutchinson discussed that the game might soon be available for next generation consoles and that fans could expect a period of 3 years in between releases of newer versions of the game.

A lot of other information was also leaked and the massive costs behind the development of the game were also brought forward. Perhaps to make us appreciate it all the more. During the interview there was some talk of the greatness of the Japanese company Nintendo and the massive success it has enjoyed to date.

We believe that that is what set Hutchinson on fire and he jumped to his own rescue and blurted out remarks to make anyone blush. He claimed that Japanese storylines are quite nonsensical and that they just cannot seem to get it right. He harshly commented that the journalists had to be quite stupid to assume any of it to be works of genius when they clearly weren’t.

The creative director went on to say that Gears of War had a deplorable storyline. Journalists were jumping all over the place after these statements went public and no bit of general gamer response was spared. It has been a frenzy ever since.

Many fans and gamers believe that a great game remains a great game no matter who created it. The kind of racism that Hutchinson displayed has no place in serious gaming where all games that matter are equal. We can expect to see a lot more criticism pouring out for the creative director in the coming days.

It is possible that some sort of conspiracy has been given way because of these outrageous comments and they are unacceptable by most of us who have loved and enjoyed various Japanese masterpieces.
