If you have ever stepped inside an Apple store, you will know what I mean when I say all of Apple’s retail stores stand out from the other retail stores we’ve ever been to.
The stores are well designed, everything is well placed and with nearly every Apple product at our disposal when we walk in an Apple store, no other retail store is as good as Apple’s.
Many retailers however are trying to change their stores and make them more like Apple’s. Many companies have started remodeling their stores in an attempt to become better and keep up with innovations and technology advancements.
One such company that is going to remodel its store is AT&T. According to a new report, the carrier will replace its POS computers with none other than Apple’s favored and popular tablet, the iPad.
According to 9to5Mac, some AT&T stores are trying out iPads and iPhones at the point of sale system of the company.
As of now, the systems are only good to purchase accessories but in the upcoming future, the iPads are believed to replace their POS computers entirely.
It will take quite a few years for AT&T to employ iPads as its POS computers alternate at its stores but according to reports, the carrier has already started testing the tablets.
AT&T’s move to replace POS computer system by iPads is to move ahead with technology and make its sales representatives more mobile. With iPads in place, they will be able to move around and not stay behind their counter bars only. Moreover, due to this, it is believed that efficiency and speed of transactions will jump in AT&T stores.
AT&T will not be the first one to do so though, as Verizon introduced Windows based tablets as a substitute for its POS desktop computers.
