Ubisoft hasn’t been working hastily on promoting Assassin’s Creed III and all other things related to it. However, whenever we learn something new about the game, we become all ears to it.
The latest information about the upcoming title has been spilled by the developers of the game, Gabriel Graziani and Dii Rancourt. Both have revealed some new details in the official podcast of Assassin’s Creed III.
The podcast is 47 minutes long; it is quite lengthy and makes you yawn at times but in the podcast, the developers have revealed different things including details about AC’s protagonist, Connor and other details about the game.
From what we can make out of the details revealed by the developers, it doesn’t look like Connor will have a love interest in the game; well he could and at the end, he will have a love interest I guess but the developers aren’t really interested in talking about the game’s protagonist’s love interest. They are more interested in talking about the combat development and others so Connor’s love interest is not on the agenda for now.
The developers also spilled some details about the weapons of Connor; we thought Connor will use the tomahawk and bow/arrow to deal with his foes but according to the developers, the trademarked wrist blade will be back in Assassin’s Creed 3 again.
The wrist blade however won’t be detachable so you can’t sling it to kill enemies. Gamers will keep the wrist blade as a stabbing weapon at best.
Another new weapon coming to Assassin’s Creed 3 is Rope Dart. The new weapon will have hooking capabilities but according to the developers, it won’t work like many users think it will (meaning the rope dart won’t be used in its traditional way).
Bow and arrow is making a comeback in most modern day games today including Tomb Raider and Crysis 3. Same will be the case with Assassin’s Creed 3 but Ubisoft hasn’t revealed whether there will be auto-aim in bow and arrow or not.
The developers have also confirmed that Connor will be able to use the weapons using both his hands; right and left both and not just with a single hand.
On the weapons front, the developers have confirmed that Connor will meet some Asian character in the game who will guide him to these weapons.
In terms of Combat, the game will again offer a lot of changes as compared to before. The developers have confirmed that it will be easier for users to get in and out of fights and this is a part of the new fighting system in the game.
The developers have also confirmed that users will not be required to lock on to enemies like seen in previous AC games. This time, Connor will be equipped to battle with a “space of enemies” and he will be able to react accordingly (according to the number of enemies).
Gamers can preorder their game and the game will ship on October 30 on PS3 and Xbox consoles.
