The Samsung Galaxy S3 was launched two months ago in two colors; Blue and white. When the phone was released in the US, AT&T also indicated that the phone will be released in red color as well.
Now AT&T has announced that the consumers can preorder the red version starting from Monday July 15th, on a two year basic contract with 16GB space, the red version will be priced the same as the other two colors i.e. $199.99.
For now the red version of the Samsung Galaxy S3 is only available through pre order but starting from July 29th, the phone will be available on retail stores all over the country.
Currently only AT&T is known to be introducing this version. No other carrier is known to have struck a deal with Samsung as yet.
Concerning the specifications of the phone, it is pretty much similar to the blue and silver versions. The screen is Super AMOLED 4.8 inch 720 p. The processor is a 1.5GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon dual core S4. The storage space offered by the phone is 16GB with 2GB RAM.
The rear end camera of the phone has the standard 8 megapixels and produces 1080p videos. Critics argue the storage space offered may be too little considering the quality of the video recordings and the camera. Each picture and video might take up a lot of space and thus more of it should be offered.
A microSD Card Slot has been added to the phone and cards of up to 32GB can be used. The OTG functionality of the USB works wonders as well. The phone also has NFC and the handset can use AT&T’s 4G LTE network.
The phone weighs approximately 133g and the dimensions stand at 136.6 by 70.6 by 8.6mm. It has three standard buttons and the rest is touch sensitive controls. The phone uses Android Operating System 4.0.4 Ice Cream sandwich.
The 8MP camera also includes autofocus and LED flash. The HD video offers 30 frames per second at 1080p. Touch focus and face and smile detection are also one of the features of the camera.
