During the San Diego Comic Con 2012, Capcom finally released a trailer for its upcoming CGI full featured movie Resident Evil: Damnation. The movie, which is known as Biohazard: Damnation in Japan, is fully 3D supported and is being co developed by Sony Pictures Entertainment.
The film is being directed by Makoto Kamiya and is being produced by Hiroyuki Kobayashi. This film will be a direct sequel to Resident Evil: Degeneration which was also developed by Capcom.
For the hardcore fans of the franchise, Resident Evil: Damnation stays true to the universe of Resident Evil and brings familiar faces like Leon S Kennedy, Ada Wong and Chris Redfield. Unlike the Hollywood adaptations of the movies, the CGI only crafted movies do not have a separate protagonist from the actual stories.
The story of the movie stays true to the video games. It will be mostly revolving around Chris and Leon fighting a bio-organic weapons threat in the European region. Both Leon and Ada has returned to take on the main roles in the movie.
The movie will be made available in the U.S in September 25, but it will only be released on DVD and Blu-Ray Discs. In Japan however, the movie is expected to hit the theaters on October 27.
Capcom is already working on the next installment in the Resident Evil series. The latest, Resident Evil 6 is going to be released sometime next year on PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360. A PC version will also follow months after its console released.
Capcom recently released a demonstration of the game which promises one of the best experiences in the entire franchise. Resident Evil 6 combines the gameplay of Resident Evil 5 and the rest of the series to present an excellent mix between third person action shooter and survival horror.
Players will be able to play with three main characters, each having their own story and locale. The demonstration shows how Capcom will deal with the three characters in a single game. You will be playing all three characters in the same campaign but with different stories going on parallel.
