Earlier yesterday we reported that during the San Diego Comic Con 2012, it was revealed that Assassins Creed III will not be getting a multiplayer beta. Today however, reports suggest that it might get a beta afterall.
According to Tim Browne, Assassins Creed III would not a get a beta because the developer team is hard at work trying to bring in as many features as possible to the game. But it seems that Browne did not see fit to mention that the game would be tested internally.
Today, some people have reported that an internal beta of the game has already begun and PlayStation 3 owners close to the developers have been given access. With a close beta underway, things look promising now and public beta might also take place.
According to reports, the closed multiplayer beta for Assassins Creed III is apparently not taking in house. Browne did mention earlier that the game will be tested in house, but today it was revealed that people outside of the development team have gotten access.
With the closed beta fully under place, it is quite possible that Ubisoft will unleash the beta for public too. So those of you who were a little hurt at yesterday’s news might get their hopes high because you never know what will happen now.
Assassins Creed III’s development is coming into shape for its release later this year. The game is being developed for PlayStation 3, Wii U, Xbox 360 and PC. Last week, Ubisoft confirmed that Assassins Creed III will be delayed on the PC.
As a trend, Ubisoft has always avoided releasing the game on the PC simultaneously with its console releases. This is because of the ongoing piracy issue that is plaguing the PC video game industry.
Ubisoft has planted very powerful DRM system to its game, but it seems that even with the most powerful DRM placed, hackers still get the best of the company. All Assassins Creed games are easily available through torrent websites and the latest will also make its way.
PlayStation 3 players are expected to get the best out of the game because Ubisoft announced that those who will get Assassins Creed III: Liberation for their PS Vita will get bonus content for PS3.
