Mobile phones were much different before Apple released the iPhone and the mobile phones market contained some phones with very weird designs.
In this article we’re going to show you some of the weirdest mobile phones of all time.
All mobile phones today are basically identical. A huge touchscreen framed in different cases. Before 2007, mobile phone manufacturers were competing with each other in creating some of the weirdest phone designs ever.
One example is the Nokia 7280 phone. Released by Nokia in 2005, Nokia 7280 is looks a lot like a lighter or a lipstick. The phone had no keyboard as it was replaced with a wheel and it was very difficult to use. However, it had two buttons for accepting or rejecting a phone call.
Samsung Upstage is a mobile phone released by Samsung in 2007.
The phone was a combination between a mobile phone and an mp3 player. The phone side included a 2,1 inch screen and the other half contained a 1,4 inch screen.
Users were able to switch between the phone and payer modes with the push of a button however the battery only provided 2.5 hours of autonomy.
LG Decoy was a mobile phone released by LG especially for the U.S. market. Because most Americans made a habit out of losing the bluetooth headset so often and they were not happy with the fact that they had to recharge it, LG decided to release this phone on the market to fit all needs. The phone had a Bluetooth headset charger on the back of the phone. It also included a 2.2 inch screen and GPS.
HTC Advantage was one of the last innovation from the Taiwan company. Today, if you look at HTC’s portfolio, all their mobile phones look almost identical, the only difference being the size of the screen. HTC Advantage was released in 2007 and it shipped with a 5 inch screen, 624 MHZ processor and it had a very high price at that time: $900.
