The current generation of video games has seen a lot of decent shooters. While Call of Duty still reigns as the number one FPS game in the market, there are others that are also noteworthy. For example, at this year’s E3 tradeshow, Microsoft gave us a good look at the newest title in the Halo series. The game is all set to compete against the newest Call of Duty: Black Ops 2. But for gamers, all that matters is the multiplayer component, which we will look at today.
Halo 4 and Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 both offer competitive and co-op multiplayer game modes. The question is who is able to bring the better experience to the table. If you are a fan of COD games, you can expect modes similar to previous games; this includes the popular Zombie co-op mode. Although zombie mode for Black Ops 2 isn’t confirmed yet but we are pretty sure that the game will have one as a tradition. On the other side, Halo 4 is looking good too. For its co-op experience, Halo will bring back the fabled Spartan Co-Op, leaving you players to decide which one is the best.
The Spartan co-op based modes for Halo have been quite popular amongst the fans. Microsoft offers DLC updates for the game that includes various missions all narrated for the players to play together in. While the Zombie mode in COD doesn’t offer a story, Spartan mode has a complete story based experience. Up to four players can take part in the battle and kill as many foes as possible in a given time.
Treyarch the developers behind Call of Duty: Black Ops 2, says the game will be coming with a new and exciting game mode that no one has ever seen in a COD game. What we expect from the developers is a game mode with vehicular combat, possibly air to air. The demo shown at E3 proves that the game will have flying vehicles in the game, so it’s highly likely that we will see one in multiplayer too.
Both the first person shooter games are set to be released later this year, and both are looking in great shape. Now it’s up to you to decide whether you like zombies or story based co op for Halo 4.
