‘When it’s Ready’ has become one of the favorite quotes of developers these days. The quote is seen as an excuse to delay games by developers who cannot justify for the time they are spending on the game. The popular saying can be seen as a favorite of Blizzard Entertainment, who has been telling its fans ‘When Its Ready’ for more than two decades now. But it seems that other publishers and developers have started learning from the tactics Blizzard uses to calm their fans.
Sony’s Scott Rohde also responded to the eager fans questions with a very similar statement. In an interview, he said that no further details can be revealed yet for the released date of the highly anticipated title ‘The Last Guardian’. However, he said that the game will only be released ‘When It’s Ready’.
To backup on this delay, Rohde ensures the fans that the developers are working hard to bring a game that is of excellent quality. The studios are in no mood to rush the game just because of the hype the game has created. He also said that the studio is as much excited as the fans are to release the game which they too have come to love.
Rohde also refused to talk anything else about the Last Guardian, again saying that he will only talk about the game when the time is right. He mentioned once again that at Sony, everything that matters to the team is to deliver an experience no one would forget, and to get that level of experience, they will take as much time as they need.
The fate of Last Guardian was questioned when its creator left the company as a full time developer. He is now working on the project but isn’t giving his full time. With Sony not showing any sort of footage or news update about the game during the E3 tradeshow last week, fans are concerned if they will ever see the game. Fortunately for those fans, Sony has repeatedly said that the game is being developed. The fans should rest and be patient; the game is definitely going to come out ‘When Its Ready’.
