During this E3 Capcom showed a nice little footage of its latest survival horror game Resident Evil 6. We got plenty of things to see including the setting of the game and the possible game mechanics that are coming. From what the demonstration looked like, Resident Evil 6 feels a lot like Resident Evil 5. The demo showed two players playing with separate characters fighting zombies and figuring various ways to survive.

The demonstration showed at E3 reveals at least one thing; there will be a lot of zombies to fight. Unlike previous two titles which replaced zombies with mad men, fans of the series will be delighted to know that Capcom has brought back the flesh eating zombies in full force. The demo starts in a city completely destroyed and overrun by zombies.

Our heroes find themselves trapped in the middle of the entire crisis.  The demo then shifts towards the gameplay which looks like fast paced just like Resident Evil 5. It gave a feeling of an action game rather than a survival horror. One thing is for sure, we saw that there are various kinds of ways in which you can kill zombies, so expect the ammunition to be quite hard to find since you have a lot of other ways to kill zombies including grenades and instant knife kills.

When questions from various press personalities were raised, it was revealed that Capcom plans on bringing 4 player co-op sequences in the game. It is still unclear how these will work but the publisher confirms that during the campaign, players will come across characters of the game which will join together in order to move on.

We are still unclear how Capcom will make this work out. If the game uses online drop in drop out co-op feature, it would be quite hard to find people to play these 4 players co-op sequences since not everyone will be at the same place in the campaign.

The idea of bringing four players together in a Resident Evil game sounds quite fun, however it is quite concerning to see how this would work out in the final product. Resident Evil 6 is currently scheduled to release on Oct 2. It will be available on Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3.
