A source close and trusted to GameStop has revealed, or rather confirmed that Black Ops 2 will get exclusive retailer based pre-order content. The source claims that GameStop has already acquired exclusive rights to a special map that will be available for gamers who pre-order the game through the retailer.
Reports suggest that an upgraded and revamped version of the popular Nuketown map from the previous series will be available for players who directly pre-order the game from GameStop in the U.S and U.K.
According to the source, more than a single map will be offered to players who pre-order the game through the retailer. Nuketown 2025 is the first of these maps to make its way to the preorder of the game.
Additionally, it is also being reported that other content, not limited to maps, will also be made available through the pre-order. It is still unclear what kind of content we are looking at. But as far as experience goes, we believe it could be a special costume or even an exclusive pre-order weapon. More details on the pre-order package are expected to be revealed in October, when the game will be nearing its release.
Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 is the new addition to the popular COD franchise from Activision. This particular game is being developed by Treyarch, a studio that has previously worked on a couple of games from the same series.
According to Treyarch, Black Ops 2 will be the first in the series to offer a different take on the titanic franchise. We have already seen the new futuristic setting of the game through gameplay demos and screenshots.
More details on the game have also revealed that players will have plenty of options during the campaign of the game. Players will be allowed to direct the game with several story based options that will result in different conclusions of the game.
