With the Electronic Entertainment Expo just days away, we are excited to talk about the most anticipated games of this year’s show. There is no denying the fact that Sony’s exclusive God Of War franchise is one of the biggest games our generation. The studio earlier this year revealed its plans for the next installment in the series. Instead of bringing in a 4th installment to its epic story, Sony is taking us back in time to the origin story of its blood hungry protagonist Kratos.
God Of War: Ascension tells the origin story of a young Kratos who was tricked by Aries, the original God Of War. Sony plans on telling us what happened to Kratos in detail that turned him into a monster and a God killing machine. We will finally get to see the scenes where he gets betrayed by Aeries and kills his family and then takes his revenge against the God to become one himself.
The biggest new feature of the game is the multiplayer mode. For the first time in the history of God Of War, players will be able to team up with up to 8 players to fight against titanic monsters. The multiplayer mode will not feature Kratos himself but players will get the opportunity to choose characters and upgrade their looks and abilities as they level up. Additionally, the game allows players to side with different Gods that will essentially decide what kind of abilities they get.
The multiplayer, as of now sounds much like a traditional action role playing game where players will gain levels, side with Gods, get new armor and weapons and play as different classes. Siding with a God will decide what kind of class the character takes on. It is expected that common classes like melee damager, ranged, mages and healers will probably make up the class base.
Sony is currently quiet about the classes of the multiplayer mode, but since E3 is just 3 days away, we are mostly likely going to see a lot of new details emerge on this epic new installment for the God Of War series.
