Many, and when I say many, I mean thousands and thousands of people have reportedly become bored of the iPhone’s lock screen mechanism. However, I believe that these thousands and thousands of people probably didn’t jailbreak their iPhone if they are complaining about its lock screen as if you have a jailbroken iPhone, you probably already know that you can change your iPhone’s lock screen instantly by getting a lock screen tweak from Cydia’s BigBoss repo.
The latest tweak for changing your iPhone’s lock screen is HTCLock. The new lock screen will allow users to lock their iPhones or iDevices like an HTC phone. The new HTCLock is the latest to hit Cydia’s BigBoss repo and it will allow users to launch applications very easily by using a HTC style UI.
Once you install the new tweak, it will allow you to launch applications such as messages, the web browser, mail and others on your iPhone by moving around the circle UI to whichever application you want to open. The HTCLock tweak will completely change the way you lock your iPhone, disappearing the orthodox lock screen of your phone to something totally new and changed.
The drawback of this tweak is that it will not allow you to launch applications successfully using the dragging motion if you have a password on your phone. The initial HTCLock tweak also has another problem. The tweak lets users change the theme for their launch application icons but many users have reported problems with this feature of the tweak too. Several other issues have also been pointed out by users with HTCLock, which might be addressed in an updated version of the tweak.
For now, if you want to check out the tweak, go over to Cydia’s BigBoss repo and get it. Once you try it out, leave a comment here telling us what you think about the HTCLock tweak.
