The Finnish company Rovio, best known for its game Angry Birds on various Smartphones, tablets and computers has just announced that the company is busy producing another title which will be in league with Angry Birds.
The announcement was made directly from Mikael Hed, the developer company’s CEO in a talking show on Yle’s. According to Hed, the game is called Amazing Alex and will be made available in the coming months.
Angry Birds have reached an extreme popularity on Smartphones and have become the biggest cult classics of this era. In a recent report, it was revealed that the game was downloaded for more than a billion times on various devices.
Angry Birds has without any doubt set up a huge standard for mobile games, but with the new game, the company is looking forward to bring something out that is as good as the popular battle between birds and pigs.
According to Hed, the new game Amazing Alex is centered on this young boy who goes by the name Alex. In the game Alex is shown as a curious young boy who loves building stuff and will have players probably building a lot of things.
Hed said that the game’s main focus is to be educational title that will help children learn a lot of things using the fun mechanics of the game.
Rovio acquired Amazing Alex from Casey’s Contraptions game, which the game first belonged to as an Intellectual Property. No details were revealed on how much money Rovio spent to acquire the IP.
Hed agreed to the fact that Angry Birds is a hard game to beat especially because of its extreme popularity, but the developing team of Amazing Alex is working day and night to produce something that the fans of the original game will definitely enjoy playing.
No other details were revealed by the CEO of Rovio; however, if the game is indeed scheduled to be released in the coming months, we might see the trailer or screenshots very soon. No pricing or the platform has yet been revealed either.
