The developers of the GEVEY SIM cards announced that the Ultra S model can now unlock iPhone 4S running on the iOS 5.1.1 operating system.

The people over at GEVEY said that this SIM card can unlock the iOS 5.1.1 baseband and that you can update to iOS 5.1.1 if you are using this SIM Card.

We have not tested if what they are saying is true, but considering the fact that the announcement was made on the company’s official Twitter account, you should have no problems in unlocking your iPhone.

If you have a iPhone 4S smartphone and you want to jailbreak on iOS 5.1 / 5.1.1 then we recommend not to update to the most recent iOS version and to wait for a few days.

Pod2G said nothing about iOS 5.1.1 and it’s untethered jailbreak solution and it would be a shame to lose the possibility of using it.

You should also know that GEVEY Ultra S card is the only way to unlock a iPhone 4S smartphone running on iOS 5.1 / 5.1.1.

UPDATE

Shortly after Apple released the new iOS 5.1.1 we found out that you can jailbreak using the latest RedSn0w version.

Well the people over at Applenberry confirmed that GEVEY Ultra S cards for iPhone 4S can also unlock the iOS 5.1.1 baseband ( 2.0.12 ).

GEVEY also confirmed via their Twitter account that the Ultra S card for iPhone 4S can unlock the 2.0.12 iOS 5.1.1 baseband.

So, you should know that GEVEY Ultra S is compatible with:

Firmware Build Baseband
iOS 5.0 9A334 1.0.11
iOS 5.0.1 9A405 1.0.13
iOS 5.0.1 9A406 1.0.14
iOS 5.1 9B176 2.0.10
iOS 5.1.1 9B206 2.0.12

Heads Up: If you have iOS 5.1 we recommend not to update to iOS 5.1.1 because you will lose untethered jailbreak on the new Apple devices, especially since there is no way to restore the previous iOS versions at the moment.
