The LEGO Harry Potter series is back with the last years of Harry Potter and Hogwarts. This is technically a sequel to last year’s LEGO Harry Potter: Years 1 – 4. This time LEGO Harry Potter: Years 5-7 brings you back to Hogwarts with a much darker setting compared to previous game. There are no more happy moments in the game; you will find yourself mostly trying to fight against the evil set forth by Lord Voldemort. But being a LEGO game, fans will still get to enjoy some humor on the way.
Just like the previous game LEGO Harry Potter: Years 5-7 is excellent when it comes to storytelling. Your characters don’t speak anything, they communicate and tell story with the help of emotions and sounds that are both charming and fun to see. Players can embark on an adventure that will award their curiosity. There is plenty to find and explore in the game and it also offers various gameplay mechanics that a lot of people will enjoy.
LEGO Harry Potter: Years 5-7 presents all the events that took place in the last three books and the last four movies of Harry Potter. Each year is divided into a single chapter with sub chapters. Every chapter covers a story from the corresponding book or movie. The Vita version in particular introduces some more sequences that were originally presented as cut scenes in the console version.
The gameplay of LEGO Harry Potter: Years 5-7 is pretty much similar to its predecessor or any other LEGO based game. Every level has you completing a short set of puzzles with the help of various abilities of characters at your disposal. While solving these puzzle based tasks, you will also be able to explore around for coins and LEGO pieces.
Just like any other LEGO game, LEGO Harry Potter: Years 5-7 has that addicting thing which causes you to collect everything in a given level. I thoroughly enjoyed my time playing this game during the review and I was always looking around for coins and LEGO pieces. This is truly an addictive game and the fans in particular will enjoy it a lot.
