There is a great satisfaction in hitting your target in a First Person shooter game. Only few games make it beyond amazing and Tribes: Ascend is one of those games. This isn’t because of great shooting response or visuals, it is because hitting a target and successfully scoring a kill in this game takes skill. The mechanics of the game take time to master, but when you have, you can easily out skill others just by moving in a tricky fashion. You can easily soar beyond the competition if you simply learn how to move around properly in the game. I sat down to see whether this shooter diverse your time or not. Find out in the review how it may be the best shooter you have played in this season.
After its long hiatus, Tribes: Ascend is finally out and is now available for anyone who wishes to play for free. The game may have arrived in a completely new generation from where it began, but it doesn’t change the core mechanics at all. You still fight in fast paced death matches and capture the flag scenarios. The best thing about the game is its environments, which it has kept in between hills and open air battle grounds.
Tribes: Ascend is particularly enjoyable when you are out in the field fighting players. This is the first shooter that came to me in recent memory that allows players to move around really fast. The mechanics of the game allows player to ski around slopes or use your jet pack to climb hills. Once you get the hang of these mechanics, this game will feel like no other.
Tribes: Ascend requires a lot of skill from the player to move around. Even a single jump through your jet pack can be hazardous if you don’t time your landing correctly. For those who enjoy fast paced shooters, this is an amazing package overall. If you have loved games like Unreal Tournament or Quake, you will be regretting the decision of not trying it out. Tribes: Ascend is without any doubt an excellent online shooter, and with its free to play module, why not just try it?
