Philips E-Line 237E3QPHSU is a great looking monitor that offers a nice display output. However, during our review tests, the only disappointment we had was the refresh rates of the screen.
The screen is designed and optimized for budget oriented users. This IPS display is a quite cheap even when compared to ViewSonic, a company known for producing the best budget friendly screens. The great thing about the Philips E-Line 237E3QPHSU is that it offers style, something which is almost always absent from budget friendly screens. The screen has a blue light on its top and bottom bezels and the entire screen case is made with glossy black finish. The overall design of the screen is also full of curves around its edges. Another great thing about this panel is that it has a thinner profile compared to other screens in the same price.
The Philips E-Line 237E3QPHSU offers no DVI input, something that surprised us a lot. Instead it offers a HDMI and VGA DSub ports. The stand of the screen offers adjustments in the form of backward and forward moving, it cannot be rotated. The power supply is built into the screen unlike other modern screens that have their power supply in the stand.
When turned on and tested in the labs, the Philips E-Line 237E3QPHSU produced decent image quality results. The viewing angles were found to be slightly better than TN panels, though don’t expect them to beat the higher end models of other manufacturers. Overall, the entire display quality is full of crisp texts, warm colors and a great brightness contrast ratio.
The only notable problem with the Philips E-Line 237E3QPHSU is its refresh rate. We rate its refresh rate to be poor at only 7mb. As a result of poor refresh rate, you may have problem playing modern games at best display. The colors may also fade out due to the low refresh rate during video playback.
Considering all these factors, the price performance ratio of the Philips E-Line 237E3QPHSU is still better than most out there. I would recommend this to anyone on a tight budget that want a decent performing and good looking screen.
