It seems that fans and Capcom both enjoy bringing great franchises together. The company has been teaming up with a lot of different developers to bring both of their best characters to a single crossover.
Years have passed and we have seen some very successful crossovers like Marvel Vs Capcom and Tatsunoko Vs Capcom.
But this time, the company has gone very specific with the new crossover, this time it’s not Marvel or any other company, instead it’s their most popular franchise Street Fighter against Tekken in Street Fighter X Tekken.
I have got the game and here is its review.
When Street Fighter X Tekken was first announced, I had doubts that the company could not balance the mechanics, but fortunately, it has beautifully combined both the games together into a package that is extremely entertaining.
If you have played both the games, you will instantly realize that the best elements from both games are present here.
Tekken fans maybe a little disappointed because the main focus is on Street Fighter style of gameplay then Tekken itself. But you will still see a lot of elements being pulled out from the Tekken series.
The Street Fighter X Tekken roster consists of your favorite fighters from both the franchises. Familiar faces like Heihachi Mashima, Kaszuya, Yoshimitsu, Jin Kizama are all available to play with.
One more interesting thing about the game is that every character has a rival character. If you select a character and your opponent is a rival, before the battle starts, a dialogue appears between the two.
Getting the PlayStation 3 version will score you with extra characters like Pac Man and Mega Man from Capcom and Cole from Sony’s popular infamous franchise.
Just like any Street fighter and Tekken game, the action is extremely fast paced. You can easily select more than a single character to form unique combos during battle.
This is a mechanic that was made popular in Tekken Tag Tournament and it smoothly blends into the game. The game also brings in some new modes that are entirely new to both the franchises.
Whether you are a Street Fighter fan or Tekken, Street Fighter X Tekken is an excellent game to pick up and play.
