The Tightrope Walker in Madonna’s Entourage

The show was a magnificent success but some people were looking out for the guy in the toga who was walking a tightrope as Madonna did her thing for the Super Bowl match.  In fact some research has shown that this was Andy Lewis, a rather obscure performer who is likely to get a big break following his performance. Most people agree that the Super Bowl XLVI Half Time Show was simply amazing.  The new kid on the block goes by the stage name of Sketchy Andy and was on top form with all sorts of tricks that held the audiences in a trance. He went on to write on his website that he started slack lining in 2005. For the 25 year old, this is an opportunity to hit the prime time shows.

Madonna wows the crowd with a carefully planned performance

In the run-up to the show, Madonna had been very careful to cultivate an image of quiet confidence. Those of us who have watched her shows over the years were never in doubt that the Queen of Reinvention was going to pull off a winner. Most of her singing is acceptable but the performance is absolutely at the top end of things. There are reports that the extreme athlete has signed up for up to 100 shows with the Material Girl. In any case his debut in front of America was an absolute triumph.

At about 6’2”, one might have expected that he would be somehow challenged by all the acrobatics but on the contrary he seems to be taking it all in with confidence. Some of his other success points include the 2011 Reel Rock DVD where he performs stunts that are just out of this world. Despite the unfortunate antics of M.I.A. the show went on without a major hitch.
