The entire premise of the program is that women should be treated as objects of sexual pleasure, to be dumped at the whims of a moderately handsome man. ‘Bachelor’ Ben was not doing anything out of the ordinary when he went on some hometown dates and ended up causing mayhem. This was then followed by an elimination that can only be described as being shocking. You keep wondering whether the women are really into Ben Flajnik or whether they are merely acting up in order to put food on the table. He has nonetheless been able to cope with the extra attention and enjoys playing the role of selector.
Narrowing the field to the best choices
After weeks of searching Ben Flajnik has finally settled on a shortlist of 3 women. Along the way, many of their colleagues or competitors have been disappointed. Meanwhile the reality show audiences enjoyed watching the humiliation of women who were desperate for a date. Others feel that he has made a terrible mistake by sending home the very woman that appeared to suit him best. Of course we rarely make sensible decisions in our love life. Instead we will choose the worst cads to become our companions despite the desperate entreaties of all the people that care for us.
The women were true to type and they all said that they were falling in love with Ben Flajnik. This is a perfectly ludicrous statement which does not possess even shades of truth. The fact of the matter is that these are young ladies on the make who are hoping that they can bag the handsome bachelor and also get their names in the papers. There is no realistic prospect that relationships developed in this way are going to last long. Most of our experiences indicate that “show” romances are alive for only a few weeks.
