Texas Longhorns Full Sweep Win

Over the last century, the balance of power has shifted back and forth of sporting events between Texas and Texas A&M. On Monday, when Aggies dipped 68-70, the pendulum moved fully in the longhorns’ way for the foreseeable future. In a statement, Billy Kennedy, the head coach said that the loss was very disappointing for the team and its fans. Adding further, he said that the team had fought very hard and it feels sad when you lose a game by a small margin. With just 14 seconds left in the game, Texas A&M had a chance to take the lead but a turnover cost the Aggies the opportunity for a game winner.

During the first half, the lead changed 5 times. Sheldon McClellan of Texas led all scorers with a total of 13 points. Furthermore, David Loubeau, senior forward paced the Aggies with 8. Moreover, Elston Turner’s 3-pointer with approximately 2:25 left in the half provided the Aggies a 32-30 lead. They progressed towards the locker rooms grasping a 34-33 advantage. In the half, Ray Turner, junior forward, scored a total of 8 points. While speaking to the media, Turner said that a lot of energy was brought by Ray during the game. Adding further, he said that Ray is a very talented player and is always up for the challenge. The Aggies compressed down on defense and started building plays after permitting a 6-0 run to commence the 2nd half. In the second period, Turner scored a total of 15 points including a long ball that brought A&M within a bucket 64-62. Turner returned the favor with another and -1 after relinquishing an additional longhorn bucket.

Turner and Loubeau were competent on the block for the Aggies, both combined for 27 points and 10 rebounds. In a statement, Turner said that it is very hard to guard Loubeau. Adding further, he said that Loubeau is a great sneaky scorer in the post. The Aggies had a final chance to respond, after a J’Covan Brown layup. Loubeau revealed that it was a very dangerous possession.
