“Terra Nova” Star Stephen Lang to Guest Star in Three Episodes of “In Plain Sight”
Fox hasn’t made a decision yet on whether there will be another season of “Terra Nova.” The expensive sci-fi dinosaur drama was well received in the first few episodes, but the finale lacked the ratings the network might have expected. However, it does seem to have a dedicated fan base, so perhaps the fans won’t be disappointed. However, one of the stars of the show, Stephen Lang, will be cast in a guest role on “In Plain Sight.”
The USA Network drama, “In Plain Sight,” follows two U.S. Marshals as they try to keep people alive who are in the Witness Protection Program. Lang will play the role of Mary McCormack’s father, who is played by Mary Shannon. This is the second time that Lang has had a guest role in a series on USA. He was previously in “Law & Order: Criminal Intent.”
Lang is scheduled to appear in three episodes and he had to get approval from Fox in order to work on another network’s show. Lang’s options for “Terra Nova” were extended last year, as they wanted to keep the actors when the various networks were headed into the casting period for pilots. Fox did the same with Jason O’Mara, who is also on “Terra Nova.”
Lang is still under contract with 20th Television until the end of June. “Terra Nova” was considered likely to get another season after season one ended in December. However, two other Fox shows did very well in January. “Alcatraz” has done very well in its time slot and the preview episode of “Touch,” starring Keifer Southerland did, as well.
It’s not known if the filming of “In Plain Sight” would be a conflict for the filming of a new season of “Terra Nova.” The production demands of the dinosaur show mean that filming would need to start very soon.
This is the fifth season for “In Plain Sight” and USA announced that this will be the last season of the show. The premiere is March 16.
