This weak we learned that the team that developed the famous GEVEY SIM cards, cards that unlock the iPhone 4 smartphone with iOS 4 baseband, discovered a unlock solution for iPhone 4S named Gevey Ultra S.

Using this new SIM card you can unlock a iPhone 4S running on iOS 5.x without a jailbreak, everything for around $55 dollars. Also this week we learned that the same development team started to test a SIM card that unlocks iPhone 4 smartphones with 04.11.08 or higher, which we usually find in iOS 5.x.

We are going to find out soon if the tests will be successful but we’re sure that everything will end with a new Gevey SIM card.

But will Dev Team release unlock solutions if we get this unlock solution from GEVEY ? The answer is surely no and it is based on last year’s history when MuscleNerd indirectly said that a unlock solution is not going to be released since thre are GEVEY SIM cards that unlock these smartphones.

It does not matter if Dev Team has a unlock solution for iPhone 4 / 4S on iOS 5.0 because it won’t be published only if the current cards become useless after a baseband update, which will probably happen as soon as iOS 5.1 is released.

If you have a iPhone 3GS do not expect a unlock solution because you have the option of installing the iPad baseband and Dev Team is not going to release something else.

To conclude, we don’t think that Dev Team will release a unlock solution for iPhone 4 / iPhone 4S with iOS 5.x only if these new cards from  GEVEY become useless.
