RecognizeMe is a biometric facial recognition system for the iPhone smartphone and in the video below we have a short presentation of the way it works. You have surely seen security systems like this one in movies, systems that verify the facial features of a person and based on them they offer access into a room.

The same principle is applied here, but now we are talking about access into the iPhone and not access into a room.

The RecognizeMe system appears as an option when you set a passcode for iOS and allows you to unlock the iPhone through facial recognition.

The recognition is done using the frontal camera of the iPhone which will scan your face and checks it against the database of your iPhone where a series of photos of yourself are available.

More about the RecognizeMe system:

Your iPhone is unlocked after the facial recognition is completed, otherwise it will remain locked. Everything works based on predefined photos on the iPhone so no other person will be able to unlock your iPhone.

Recently, the RecognizeMe application was updated, the developer improving the base algorithms that take care of the facial recognition by implementing new things and fixing some functionality problems.

The RecognizeMe application is available in Cydia at a price of $2,99.
