RnBXclusive, the music site has been closed by UK’s Soca or Serious Organized Crime Agency.

A takedown notice has warned its visitors that people who have used this site to download music might face 10 years of imprisonment as well as unlimited fee. According to Soca, music available in the site was “stolen from the artists” and might have “damaged careers.”

According to police a person has been arrested for the fraud and has granted bail pending more inquiries. In a statement the agency said, “Soca targets organized criminal enterprises profiting from the exploitation of the UK public and legitimate businesses.”

The music available for download by this website “was illegally obtained from artists, leading the industry to attribute losses of approximately £ 15m per year to the site’s activity.”

The agency also added that the action was a part of large operation fighting illegal uploading of copyrighted material online, with many sites being targeted using “varied techniques.”

According to several industry observers the action is believed to a new sign that authorities are working on efforts to minimize online privacy.

However, the leader of Pirate Party UK, Loz Kaye said he disagrees with the closure nature. “The explicit threat to visitors of the site and take down notice is alarming.”
