The Hot Shots Golf series have made a huge fan following over the past few years. It started off as a simple golf game with charming looking characters. As time passed, the developers have constantly improved the game. The main aim of the game is to keep things as simple as possible while making sure that the actual sport stays alive somewhere. If you love colorful visuals with relaxing background music, than you are going to fall in love with this PlayStation Vita launch title. I’ve got my hands on Hot Shots Golf: World Invitational and this is what I have to share through the review.
Just like any series, Hot Shots Golf: World Invitational also suffers from the same action you may have already played in the past. I am glad though that the developers still managed to put in some new stuff for players to experiment with, but nothing that changes the formula. The single player mode of the game offers you challenges in the form of different leagues. Each challenge ends up with you battling it out with another character of the game, usually a rival. Once you beat the character in single player mode, it becomes available to play.
The gameplay of Hot Shots Golf: World Invitational is something that a lot of people will enjoy, especially those familiar with the sport itself. Once you are on a course, you must study the environment around you. This includes the direction of wind, the terrain and the usual hazards on the map. The shot you take also depends on what kind of club you decide to play with. Each shot is finished when you decide the power of the shot with a power bar.
Hot Shots Golf: World Invitational is an interesting and fun game and should definitely attract all those people who are looking for a little bit of casual play. Golfers in particular will enjoy the game because it tends to be close to the real thing. You won’t find actual simulation of the sport, but what it does, it does accordingly.
