The original Jak and Daxter series started their life on the Sony PlayStation 2 and quickly became one of the most loved platform games of all time. The series finally make a return on the PlayStation 3 with upgraded versions of the game series. The Jak and Daxter Collection brings you back to one of the finest platformers from the PlayStation 2 in a form of a single package that contains all three games released on the PS2. I finally got my hands on the game to review it and find out if this is worth getting your hands on.

When an HD remake of a game comes back on the next generation consoles, the first question we ask ourselves if it is really worth getting our hands on a game that we have already played. With the Jak and Daxter Collection, you won’t be disappointed with what the developers have done with the upgrades. Most of the game is upgraded with visuals, you won’t find anything new added to the gameplay or its modes, however, the new and improved visuals are something these series really deserved.

With Jak and Daxter Collection, you can finally walk, run and jump around one of the finest environments ever created, and now available in HD visuals. Throughout my review, I figured that one of the three games, Jak and Daxter: The Precursor Legacy didn’t get the best upgrades. But with the other two, Jak II and Jak 3, the developers have really done a great job bringing these titles to the next generation of consoles.

Jak and Daxter Collection also offers the 3D experience, which in my opinion, isn’t the best feature of the remake. You will only enjoy the 3D visuals when riding some of the game’s vehicles, otherwise it was mostly unnoticeable. I have always loved the Jak series and I am glad that Sony decided to bring the games in all HD glory. If you have played the games and liked them, you are going to love this new package. And for anyone who hasn’t played the series, you have missed one of the best platforming games ever created.
