Puddle is a puzzle game that puts you in charge of a puddle that must go through the obstacles to save itself.
While most games these days start with a comprehensive tutorial explaining you the basic mechanics of the game, Puddle instantly pits you in the world with only one mission at hand, get your puddle to safety with the help of whatever you can get your hands on.
This is an extremely fun and challenging puzzle game that will put you through a lot of different puzzles and other ‘boss fights’. I finally got my hands on this interesting puzzle game for the review.
In Puddle, you start of in a lab where a cup of coffee is resting on the edge of a table. You soon realize that in order to start your game, you need to move your left analog stick in left and right directions. Soon after, the coffee cup falls down and a pile of liquid becomes your main object.
The game also puts you through boss fights which are extremely entertaining. The simple gameplay mechanics work like a tilting pinball game. You simply tilt the game to make your puddle move and save it from dangerous obstacles. While playing on the PlayStation 3, you can take advantage of the SixAxis feature of the controller.
This makes your experience a lot easier than controlling the screen using analog sticks. Your liquid puddle has a life of meter of its own, for example, if you run into something that evaporates your liquid, you immediately do not end up starting the stage again, but instead; your puddle suffers some damage.
Puddle may be a very simple game, but in reality it really does offer quite a lot of challenge. The kind of challenge I am talking about is not frustrating in nature, instead it motivates you to complete the stage and the reward is always extreme satisfaction.
This is an excellent puzzle game recommended for everyone who likes the genre.
