The newest game from CyberConnect 2 for the PlayStation is a unique game that you probably haven’t played anywhere else. Asura’s Wrath dares to try something new out and it actually succeeds. I don’t remember playing anything that comes close to what the game is. The game is actually more of an interactive anime, which means you will get to see a lot of cut-scenes and action. One of the best things why this game stands apart from others is its visual design and the way developers present it. I completed the game and here is what I have to share through the review.

Because Asura’s Wrath more of an interactive anime than a game, the story is absolutely necessary to keep you interested. Fortunately, the story here is so good that I couldn’t let the controller down for as long as it lasted. If you enjoy watching anime, you are going to love what this game offers. It tells a tale of a demigod, Asura. He gets betrayed by other gods and in the process also loses his daughter and wife. Asura finds himself coming back to life after centuries of banishment just because of his rage. Now he is on a quest put his fellow gods out of business and take his revenge.

Asura’s Wrath spans over 18 episodes, just like any anime series you have seen. The developers have made this game so close to being an actual anime that before any episode starts, you are given a preview of what is about to happen. Each episode in the game has gameplay elements, but these are very less frequent moments. This is exactly why I wouldn’t call it a complete game.

Most of the gameplay elements in Asura’s Wrath are very straight forward and simple. In many of the episodes, you will mostly be mashing buttons or shooting stuff in on rails sequences. My only concern is the price of the game, the amount of gameplay doesn’t really qualify it as a complete game. And also, it lasts for only about five and a half hours at most. But nevertheless, this is an amazing experience and you should definitely try it out.
