Nvidia confirmed that they are going to showcase Quad Core – Tegra 3 – smartphones, in two weeks, at the Mobile World Congress 2012, through an invitation to the foreign media.

The people over at The Verge received an invitation through which Nvidia confirms the existence of such smartphones.

The first demonstration of the Kal-El technology took place in June, 2011, at Computex.

A smartphone prototype was put on display at the Consumers Electronics Show 2012, however nobody could touch it. Since then, the only known device with this processor was the Asus Transformer Prime.

We are extremely curious to find out if at the Mobile World Congress 2012 the device will still be in a project stage or we are going to get to see a final version.

We are also wondering what smartphones manufacturer will come up with the first final product. But I guess that all these questions will be answered when the MWC 2012 opens it’s gates.
