Nintendo Wii U: Rendering Multimedia Content Got More Serious

It’s clear: Nintendo has huge plans with Wii U.

As nobody uses the current Nintendo Wii for socializing, multimedia content, or even online gaming, Nintendo wants to change tactics.

Following the examples of Xbox 360 and Playstation 3, consoles with features beyond gaming, Nintendo does not want to make the same mistakes with the new Nintendo Wii U gaming console.

According to a report signed by Adweek, Nintendo officials spent a lot of time during CES 2012 trying to convince  music, movies and TV executives that the future Wii will promote other content sources than just games.

Although Nintendo already has contracts with Hulu or Netflix, few people think that Nintendo is ready to focus on something else than just on gaming.

Another major change that will happen with the release of the new console refers to the multiplayer strategy, a segment that right now makes a lot of money on any gaming device.

Will the Nintendo Wii U be a hardware and software revelation ? It’s hard to say right now, even if the gaming console will be released in a short while.
