In many action games, you are often tasked to collect certain items that increase your power. These objects can be anything from items to coins to rings. However, collecting items in most games are mostly optional for the player, but things are quite different in One Piece: Unlimited Cruise. Collecting items isn’t a side activity in this game; it is the only thing that will get you through the game. If you decide not to collect anything, you won’t be able to move on. I do not like the strict nature of collecting items to survive in a game, but let’s check out the review and find out what else this game offers.

For those who have already played the Wii addition of One Piece: Unlimited Cruise, there is a bad news for the new comers. This isn’t the complete Ultimate Cruise experience unlike the Wii version. This version of the game is divided into parts and only contains the first episode of the saga. You also do not get the complete set of modes available in the Wii version, instead, players get to play only in the Marineford and boss rush mode.

For anyone coming directly to the game after watching the One Piece anime, you are in luck. The One Piece: Unlimited Cruise does everything true to the original anime. The exact feeling of watching the anime and its characters are present in the game. The story mode of the game will let you play with nine different characters that include the main protagonist Monkey D Luffy himself. Other characters include Zoro, Chopper, Brook and other popular ones from the series. The dialogue and character design is pretty much spot on and any fan should feel at home with it.

Earlier in the review I said that if you want to survive the game, you will have to collect items. Without collecting items, you cannot make anything. No matter what you wish to construct in the game, you require items. These items are fed to Gabri and in return you get GP, which can then be used to build up all the required items. If you plan on playing the game, just be sure to be ready to spend a lot of time collecting every single piece of junk you find in the game.
