New Israeli Commercial Featuring Samsung’s Tablet Condemned By Samsung Electronics

On Saturday, Samsung Electronics, a company based in South Korea, condemned an Israeli ad that features Samsung’s very own tablet. The ad expresses rejection at the threat from Iran to ban its products over the over the famous anti-Tehran teaser.

According to Samsung, it is not a part of the production of TV spot, which is a production of Israeli cable television channel HOT. New Galaxy Tablets were offered by HOT to pull in more viewers and the advertisement was part of the subscription campaign of the station. Samsung said it had nothing to with the television spot whatsoever. The clarification by Samsung came from a representative of the company, who also said that HOT cable network made use of Galaxy Tab in the advertisement it aired strictly as a gift or a promotional gift. The company’s spokesperson also said that the commercial which has been produced by HOT was done without the knowledge of Samsung about any such advertisement.

The spokesperson also added that the company is part of the global community and Samsung is committed towards showing respect for people of all cultures throughout the world. In Iran, the advertisement has generated fair amount of hype and protest and a senior lawmaker in Iran has said that the Majlis Energy Committee of the country was thinking about imposing a ban on sale of Samsung’s products in the country, over the new teaser.

The commercial can be seen on YouTube; the advertisement starts off by featuring agents of Israeli Mossad in a tryst at a café which is supposed to be near the nuclear facility of Iran. In the advertisement, one of the agents killing time at a table is seen playing with the Samsung tablet and is showing its features to its partners, who later on pushes one key on the tablet that sets of an explosion in the nearby located nuclear plant.
