For a very long time now, ViewSonic has build quite a big customer base for the affordable monitors it comes out with. The ViewSonic VP2765 is no exception; this 27 inches monitor is extremely affordable for its price and offers a number of features and good performance. My only concern with the screen is that being a 27 inches screen, it only offers 1920 x 1080 pixel resolution, which is a bit too less for a screen so big. But otherwise, the screen is sturdy and overall pretty decent for a complete package. This review will focus on the design, specifications and feature of the LCD monitor.
Design wise, the ViewSonic VP2765 looks and feels sturdy. The stand that holds the screen in its place is designed after a fork. You can easily rotate or adjust the height of the monitor to suit your preferences. One more disappointment about the screen comes when you realize that it does not have a HDMI input port. ViewSonic has only added a display port, DVI and VGA ports. If you want a HDMI device to hook on this screen, you will need to get a convertor. You also get 4 USB 2.0 ports right under the screen, but there are no audio or speakers built.
The ViewSonic VP2765 uses hardware buttons under the screen bezel to control the menus. There is a limited amount of configurations available for you to play with. The screen also lacks different screen modes, so don’t expect to switch the screen instantly into gaming or cinema mode. During the performance testing phase of the review, I found out that the screen offers an amazing amount of brightness level. Combined with contrast, the overall color depth isn’t the best I have seen, but it is still quite satisfactory.
The ViewSonic VP2765 is a good LCD monitor that offers a great size and good resolution. However, for those who want to use it for watching movies, you need to know that this screen lacks in providing decent viewing angles. So unless and until you sit on your desk and operate this monitor, I wouldn’t recommend it to you.
