The Philips Brilliance is an excellent 24 inches LCD monitor that has a lot of features for the home user. It supports a full 1080p HD resolution with extra features including a complete 4 USB slot hub and a stand that is adjustable both height and angle wise. One of the best features of the monitor is its capability to save a lot of power. This is technically a great screen, but I did found some notable flaws in it that I will discuss later in the review.

The Philips Brilliance isn’t exactly a masterpiece when it comes to the design. I have recently done a review for a lot of screens, and this one isn’t the best looking at all. Philips has made this screen while keeping the eco factor in mind, which is why the complete materials used in the manufacturing of this LCD is made out of 65% recycled plastic. This also makes the screen one of the most eco friendly I have recently come across.

Philips has gone out of its way to make sure that the new Philips Brilliance is a completely eco friendly solution. As a result, the LCD comes with a pre built infra red sensor that detects the presence of a user. If you are not sitting in front of the screen, the infra red sensor puts the monitor into standby mode, further increasing power saving. During the tests in the review, I figured that at maximum brightness, the screen will consume around 29W of power.

Unlike other LCD monitors, the Philips Brilliance does not have any hardware or touch sensitive controls to manage configurations. Instead, the screen uses windows based software that helps the user choose different modes and adjust other aspects of the screen output. For anyone looking for a great image and color quality, the LED panel of this screen offers great contrast levels. As a result, viewing angels with this screen are pretty decent, so if you are a fan of movies and like to often watch them as you lay on your bed, you are in luck because the screen doesn’t wash out with wide angles.
