She has been the butt of many jokes over her drug and theft conditions but now Lindsay Lohan is joining some of her tormentors. The star is going to be a host for Saturday Night Live, a show that does not pull any punches when it is satirizing the rich and famous. One of their most notorious targets was Sarah Palin who seemed to provide fodder for the comedians throughout her career as a Conservative Republican campaigner. This is meant to be her big comeback after all those setbacks that she has had to suffer on account of her penchant for drugs. The producers are probably hoping that she keeps it together until the show is finished.
Is this a new leaf for the troubled star?
It is very hard to look at Lindsay Lohan other than as a teenager. She does not seem to have matured long enough to cope with life as it is. When she stands before the judges on yet another charge, you somehow think that they are “pitying” her rather than punishing the star. Of course it could all be an act which she puts on in order to get away with her crimes. We have to remember that this is not the first time that she is hosting SNL. Therefore we can assume that she is fairly experienced in front of the camera.
We are missing the greatness of Tina Fey but are hoping that there will be some consolation from Lindsay Lohan whose best claim to fame includes a notorious charge for shoplifting and Mean Girls. The word about town is that she impressed when she last hosted the show and maintains a good relationship with Lorne Michaels who is the executive producer for the show. Apparently she sees him as a father figure and a mentor. Those are the kinds of people that Lindsay needs in her life at this moment.
