Last night, “Saturday Night Live” announced that Lindsay Lohan would be hosting the show on March 3. The sketch comedy show on that date will also feature Jack White. Perhaps SNL feels a bit sorry for Lohan, who currently doesn’t have any projects in the works right now. Her last project was “Inferno” in which she was forced to drop out of because she continued to get arrested for a variety of substance abuse problems.
Lohan is trying to make a comeback and is actually trying to complete her probation this time. However, as anyone in the entertainment industry knows, the odds are just not good that she’ll make that happen.
Perhaps she’s trying to make a comeback in terms of her public persona – you know, the one that might have fallen even farther from grace after her Playboy appearance. She’s not new to SNL, though. She’s been a host three times during the first decade of the century. She also seems to have established a friendship with Tina Fey. She started in “Mean Girls” with Lohan. The cast of SNL used Lohan’s problems for a sketch back in 2005 that featured “The Ghost of Lindsay Future.” Reading the script today, it looks like the writers were right on track back then. She’s had a long list of legal issues, including arrests for stealing a diamond necklace. She has been in and out of jail, on and off of probation, and just simply fell apart.
SNL could be a good place for Lohan to “relaunch” her career, depending on how much trouble she can get herself into beforehand. She’s had a lot of ridicule directed at her in the past. Maybe with her SNL stint, she’ll at least be able to be in on the joke before the joke’s on her.
