Keegan Bradley Apologizes for His Frequent Spitting at Northern Trust Open
Keegan Bradley has received a lot of criticism for his conduct in the final round of the Northern Trust Open last week. It appears that there are a lot of people who are “spitting” mad at Bradley’s spitting habit.
Bradley apologized for spitting on the course and said that he doesn’t even realize he’s doing it. He said that it’s been a habit of his for quite some time and he’s trying to change it. The blog-o-sphere has erupted into a storm of social media criticism wasn’t just for spitting, though. It was also for the fact that he is constantly backing off shots.
Bradley was Rookie of the Year last year for the PGA and he won the PGA championship then, too. He’s normally very fan-friendly and quite socialable. It was apparent yesterday that he was somewhat shaken by the recent criticism. He apologized once again at the World Golf Championships. He meets Geoff Ogilvy, who has won the Accenture Championship twice.
Bradley said he didn’t realize he was spitting so much until he saw a replay of the telecast, which also shows him backing off shots up to five times. He also said that he’s ready to play this week and at the same time, work on his spitting habit. He’s ready to play well, he hopes, and he wants his face back on the camera for something other than spitting.
Bradley is one of three professional golfers to win their major debut. The other two ware Francis Ouimet and Ben Curtis. His aunt is Pat Bradley, who is a World Golf Hall of Famer and a former player with the LPGA. He said that his aunt has inspired much of his success in the game. He is quickly establishing himself as one of the young stars in golf today.
