J.K. Rowling is known for her “Harry Potter” books. The series of books became a worldwide sensation and the movies that followed would blow box office sales out of the water. Rowling is now a billionaire, thanks to “Harry Potter,” but now she’s decided she wants to try her hand at a different genre.

She’s working on her first adult novel; however, she’s keeping both the title and the plot a secret for the time being. She guarantees that the novel is very different from the “Harry Potter” series. She said that the success of “Harry Potter” has given her the freedom to try a different direction in writing. She has even turned to a different publisher.

Little, Brown and Company will publish the book at a time to be disclosed later this year. This is Rowling’s first novel in several years, as the last installment in the “Harry Potter” series was published in 2007. Scholastic published “Harry Potter” in the United States. Bloomsbury was the series’ publisher in Britain. There were additional publishers used in other countries.

There were no terms of the deal with her new publisher released; however, the book will be available both in print and as an eBook. This book by Rowling is seen as a boon for the book printing industry at a time when eBooks are threatening to become the major medium.

Rowling is known for keeping secrets from her fans until she’s ready to make an announcement. There were hints for several months about “Pottermore,” which is a “Harry Potter” fan site that gives members a chance to interact with various characters. The site is also supposed to be where the Potter books were released in e-book form for the first time. The website has since been delayed. After the website was announced, then Rowling made the announcement that there would be no more “Harry Potter” books.
