Is “The River” a Good Premier Choice?

The jury is out on “The River” Premiere. Some are of the view that there is every chance that the piece will be a roaring success. Others feel that there is limited hope for success. ABC is laying down the law with their new drama. First of all you have to deal with the fear factor in a show that does not have pretentions in the horror genre. Therefore we have to assess the acting to see whether it is believable in the circumstances. Hanging dolls are used to create an atmosphere of terror which is central to the themes that are being espoused in the piece.

Family audiences need to prepare for a bumpy ride

For contrast you may want to look back to Smash but in that case we had to take account of the outrageous hype that surrounded the project. A lot of speculation is going to be to the benefit of the people that are following the movie progress. For example there are certain aspects of the storylines which are completely unique outside anything that ABC has ever done in modern times. You will have to make up your mind as to whether it is worthy of the reviews that are already coming out in favor of the show.

We look at Dr. Emmet Cole who is played by Bruce Greenwood and is a favorite host of The Undiscovered Country. He goes missing within the Amazon and then his wife Tess who is played by Leslie Hope starts a search party. His angry son Lincoln who is played by Joe Anderson joins the search party. A documentary-style segment is then incorporated into the project showing how the team is getting on.  Inevitably the drama relies on mystery and danger in order to capture the attentions of the audiences.  There is no doubt that the “The River” Premiere is going to leave an impression.
