It has been dubbed the Glee-Dux and it seems that everyone is getting in on the act. First of all there is plenty of romance and kisses are not in short supply. Finally you get those shockers that are designed to push the ratings through the roof. It must be said that behind all the hype, the program has an important message to send to young people. This is a form of artistic exercise that has a purpose behind it. Even the critics are not ashamed to say that the impact has been phenomenal. They have touched subjects that Hollywood chose to shy away from on account of the mistaken miscalculation that the public is not interested.
Getting the story going for the Glee Club
The show has created a special episode which concentrates on Valentine’s Day. In this episode Brittany who is played by Heather Morris gets together with Santana who is played by Naya Rivera. The image of them sitting together is unbearably cute. Most people will be hoping that there is PDA coming from that corner. Finn who is played by Cory Monteith makes out with Rachel who is played by Lea Michelle. They actually do it in the hallway. Fans will be hoping that there will be something for the same sex couples. The God Squad is in full force and might have something to say about that.
Despite all the excitement you sometimes get the feeling that the much vaunted Glee-Dux is getting a little bit smug. They seem to have the storylines nailed and then proceed to simply deliver them without too much effort being put into disguising the themes. A case in point is the Valentine’s Day special which is anything but subtle. We knew that the romance was going to be taken to the next level. Why not try something different and controversial?
