You have to look at various details like resolution, interface, and optical density and bit depth etc. The Brother DS-700D has got some fairly decent features which makes it well worth the price. The best feature of the Brother DS-700D is its ability to scan two pages simultaneously. It is among the least expensive scanners that can scan two pages concurrently. This property of the brother DS may be enough for it to be considered for buying but the scanner lacks in software as it has various limitations there. The device has many software limitations which really go against it. The real problem comes when you scan multiple pages and try to get it all into one document.
Another thing which makes it a bit difficult to handle is that even though you can carry it around, it is quite heavy for a portable scanner. You can still carry it around but the device is quite heavy, owing to its dual page features. Another major advantage of the device is that it gets powered by a USB and as no extra power cables hanging around it in case you want to transport it from one place to another. The installation process of the Brother DS-700D is also very easy and requires no extra pain as you just have to install the required drivers.
Another thing well worth mentioning in the review is its plastic sleeves which protect delicate documents from being damaged. You can safely put original documents in as the plastic sleeves protect any mishap that may occur from putting them into the sheet feeder. No review can be complete without mentioning the overall performance of the device. The overall performance of the device is quite satisfactory and you can use the device at home and in the office.
