Facebook has launched a latest photo viewer that displays bigger photos with comments and ads shifting to right hand side.
The release of the new software seems to be a gradual process as only few people are being able to see the layout on their respective profiles. Though the social networking giant did not immediately responded to the request, however a spokesperson told Business Insider that the firm, “from time to time [makes] updates to features and this one to the photo viewer primarily centres around making comments more visible by placing them next to [the] photo as opposed to having scroll down to view.”
Initially, ads as well as comments were displayed below the photos with ads subtly positioned in bottom right corner of the viewer. With this new photo viewer the comments might be accessed more easily, the position of the ad might draw criticism from Facebook users.
The concept of Facebook’s photo viewer is quite similar to the basic outline of Google+ lightbox overlay. However, there are important differences in the design and functionality. The Google+ overlay fully blacks out the screen behind the image instead of dark gray, translucent overlay that is presently used in Facebook.
