Fabio Capello Leaves the England Team

The racism row surrounding John Terry has claimed another victim in the guise of Fabio Capello who was forced to resign his managerial role for the England National Football Squad after he disagreed with the FA pre-emptive sanctions against Terry. Following his rather infantile racist outburst, the football player was charged with a crime (racism is not publicly acceptable in the United Kingdom). The motivation for removing the captainship from John was the potential for embarrassment if he is convicted. In any case he had already lost the PR war with the politicians getting ready for another sacrificial lamb.

Confusion in the team as it is decimated

Some Englishmen would like to have Harry Redknapp as their national manager. They are probably fed up with a series of foreigners taking over the game and then not making it to the top. England loves a winner even if they are foreign but the last few ventures into international football have been glaring disappointments. Redknapp is in a good position given the fact that he has recently been cleared of tax evasion charges which lasted for about half a decade. At the moment he appears to be reluctant but many fans would rather see him taking the place of Fabio Capello.

The Italian coach is going to have to think very carefully about his future. In the eyes of some, he is a hero for breaking the political correctness that can be stifling but on the other hand others see him as a support of racism. There is no doubt that John Terry is an embarrassment to his team. First it was a case of cheating on a team mate then we have these rather silly comments. Why can’t people be polite to one another for once? The team will have to get its act together in readiness for the upcoming fixtures.
